about the author

The Art Journal is written and produced by Arthur Kauffman, a 20-something student from Pittsburgh currently an undergraduate literary studies major at Bethel College in Newton, KS. He likes to write and make stuff like websites and pictures. He dabbles in community organizing and tries not to break stuff like mirrors and belief systems. He is hopelessly in love with strange things like vintage fixed-gear bicycles and spinach tofu.

technical details

Most pictures on this website are taken either with a Pentax MX and Kodak Tri-X film or an Olympus E-P1 with a Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 pancake lens. Film photos are never edited, just scanned and uploaded. Digital images have been processed in Lightroom 3.
